
From Stickers to Snap Circuits; New Maker Tools Turn Mountainside Library into a Creative Hub for Kids. With support from the Mountainside Rotary Club , the Mountainside Public Library is introducing new maker activities. A recent $400.00 Rotary matching grant helped fund new hands-on tools, including a Cricut cutting machine, 3D pen, and interactive learning kits. Every third grade student at Deerfield School received a dictionary recently, compliments of the Mountainside Rotary Club. Every fourth grader received a thesaurus. Members of the Mountainside Rotary Club labeled and delivered the dictionaries to the students.
The Dictionary Project, whose goal is to improve reading and comprehension across the United States and the world, has distributed over 14 million dictionaries to students since 1995.
On May 12, 2022 the Rotary Club made 100 peanut butter & jelly sandwiches along with 100 ham & cheese sandwiches and delivered the sandwiches to St. Joseph Social Service Center in Elizabeth, NJ.
