The Mountainside Rotary Club was chartered in 1961. Members of the community have volunteered their time and talents to carry out the Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self.” The Club has completed service local and international service projects. For current projects, please visit the PROJECTS page of our website.
As the oldest service club in the world, Rotary members have a huge range of opportunities for humanitarian service locally and internationally. Internationally, Rotary has been a primary focus in the eradication of polio and is “this close” to achieving that goal.
THINK YOU ARE TOO BUSY TO BE A ROTARIAN? WE ACCOMMODATE BUSY SCHEDULES
Members may attend as few meetings as their busy schedules will allow, some may attend only one meeting a month. Presently, we are meeting both in-person and on Zoom. There are multiple opportunities to get involved in our club including local service projects and district-wide events. Mountainside Rotary Club has an extensive list of speakers who join us at our meetings. If you are interested in speaking at our Club we would love to hear from you.
Rotarians pay, on average, $21 per month in dues to support Rotary International’s service programs. Each member also pays for their own dinner meal if they choose to eat during the Club program meetings.
Members may make voluntary contributions, from time to time, to support un-budgeted projects and requests for help that arise in our community. Contribution to these projects is totally voluntary and at each member’s discretion.
The very first community project involved the construction and donation of the Mountainside Bus Stop on Rt. 22 at Borough Hall.
